Sad tale- I collected all the books over a 7 month period (has anyone noticed how like Pont's his earlier works were?), put them in a black bag for safe keeping while my office was being repainted, and our cleaner threw them out...

I went on the trains in Battersea Park when little. How I loved them and the line. A sad day when the park authorities eventually removed them.

I was read "New World for Nellie" as a child and never forgot it. Now at 60 I acquired a copy from an antiquarian bookdealer here in the States. It is still a delight.

My father built a model of Nellie in 1950. She is about 12"long & 11"high. I brought her to Australia when we moved here in 1971 attadale@dodo.com.au
