Irfan View is a great program little program you can use to enhance and modify the quality of your photos before you upload them to your online albums. Because of its relatively small file size, you can quickly download it to your computer. Irfan View is for the PC only. Mac users see below.

The speed of uploading pictures to your account depends on the speed of your internet connection as well as the file size of your pictures. You can use Irfan View to reduce the file size of your pictures so that uploading them to your account will take less time.

Reducing .jpg files
The .jpg file format is an efficient compressed file format. However if the height and width of your pictures are very large, the file size will correspondingly be quite large. For instance, a picture that is 1600 x 1200 pixels in dimension could consume 800K bytes or more in file size, and will take a long time to upload. If you reduce the dimension of this large picture to 400x300 pixels, the file size will be reduced to about 50K to 75K bytes! You will then see a dramatic increase in upload speed with the smaller file. Use the Image | Resize option in Irfan View to reduce the picture dimension of your pictures.
