My mother has been quilting since age 5 and taught me about color and texture. My father was a master carpenter who shared his skills and wisdom. I have only seriously played with my art since my husband Larry encouraged me with my own studio and shop. We have six children ages 24-50, one cat, one dog, a large garden, and a Harley.
I have taught classes in paper-making, creating altered books, watercolors, and mosaic art. I have worked in decoupage, painted glass, fabric dolls with custom clothes, built furniture for the garden and home, creating art with almost anything.
I volunteer with the local GRADS teen parent program providing art materials and introducing new techniques and art forms they may not have experienced before.
In my art I emphasize themes and use my own original poems to set the mood and feeling in each individual piece. I specialize in mixed media art, ATC, altered books, shabby chic, slightly abstract paintings of dogs and other animals, etc.
I believe in learning from others in a sharing environment.
